Bird Song
Her feathers rustle
On Golden air
Only for silence
To descend there
Sparkling water glows
An amber orb rose
Silk waters shimmer
A flowing river
Towards the blue
Forgotten sea
Our creations
In continous threads
Some lead to caves
Dark and deep
Some to pools of light
To feel complete
Some sing
A returning echo
Singing to find
Our hoped for friend
Brandy
Along the whitewashed wall
Golden yellow, Scarlet red
Nasturiums tumbling
By the streams edge
Beams reflect
Summers flittering dream light
I hear grandads dog
At the cottage door
Brandy, so beautiful
A coat of red brown
Soft and silky on his crown
A determined dog
No time for charm
Brandy had no time for me
Grandad was his hero
I had to agree
For no one could match his true love
His true love for me
Brandy, a cocker spaniel
Had given his heart
No one could be his master
Grandad it had to be
At times cranky
But not nasty
He was happy
To be left be
Sitting guard
At the door
Dare anyone cross
The flagstone floor
Brandy had duties
On his watch
No time for social graces
As sunset brings nightfall
An indigo soft velvet night
Stars beaming bright
As the plough
Studs stars on our sight
